If you’re searching for a race trailer, you’re not looking for a basic enclosed cargo trailer with a few D-ring tie-downs and a ramp door.
You want a trailer designed for motorsports. Built for weight balance, durability, and long weekends at the track. Designed to protect high-value race cars, and specialty show cars. Finished with features that make loading, unloading, and working inside the trailer easier, safer, and more comfortable.
At Norco Trailers two SoCal locations we’ve hand-picked the best premium enclosed race trailers from the most trusted national manufacturers.
We keep select race trailers in stock year-round and offer custom race trailer ordering for buyers who want a trailer built around their exact needs. Our customers are typically planning 6–12 months ahead. That timeline allows for proper design, factory scheduling, and a smooth ordering process without compromises.
If you’re ready to start that process, this page will help you compare brands, understand options, and take the next step with confidence.
Race trailers are purpose-built. They are not upgraded cargo trailers.
Key differences include:
Higher structural strength for repeated heavy use
Wider rear ramp doors and flatter approach angles
Reinforced floors for race cars, toolboxes, and equipment
Interior layouts designed for workspaces, cabinets, and storage
Electrical systems capable of supporting race lighting, generators, and accessories
If you’re hauling a high-value vehicle, traveling long distances, or spending full weekends at the track, a true race trailer matters.
If you only need basic transportation, we can point you toward an enclosed car hauler or even an open flatbed auto hauler instead.
This page focuses on true racing trailers.
We hand-pick manufacturers based on build quality, consistency, warranty support, and long-term reliability. Each brand offers a different balance of customization, lead time, and price point. None of these are entry-level trailers.

Choosing between aluminum and steel comes down to priorities.
Aluminum race trailers:
Lighter overall weight
Often higher price
Resistant to corrosion
Ideal for weight-sensitive towing setups
Steel race trailers:
Lower starting price
Heavier but very durable
Often shorter lead times
Wide availability of package models
We help buyers choose based on tow vehicle limits, payload needs, and long-term ownership plans.
Stacker trailers are not for everyone.
Stacker trailers make sense if you:
Haul multiple vehicles
Need separate living or work areas
Travel extensively for racing or shows
Non-stacker trailers are often better if you:
Haul one vehicle
Want lower overall height and weight
Prefer simpler towing requirements
We regularly help buyers decide if a stacker is necessary or if a properly designed non-stacker will meet their needs.
These items must be addressed early in the process.
Trailer weights vary based on size and options
We’ll need to know length, height, GVWR and features especially generators, fuel or water tank inclusions in order for our factories to provide trailer weight estimates
Payload capacity cannot be estimated on a general page like this, it’s best for us to start with your desired cargo payload capacity then determine the trailer’s necessary axle size to ensure it can handle that capacity
Tow vehicle limits must be communicated upfront, especially if your towing capacity or tongue weights are limited and you do not want to upgrade tow vehicles for your trailer purchase
California limits trailers to under 10,000 lb GVWR when towing with a standard Class C license. There are also max tow vehicle + trailer combined weight limits for non-commercial drivers
Knowing your planned tow vehicle is necessary to ensure your licensing and the trailer’s GVWR rating are aligned.
If licensing affects trailer selection, we need to know before ordering so the GVWR can be addressed properly.
All trailers we sell are built by NATM member manufacturers and comply with DOT requirements.

Custom race trailers are not impulse purchases.
Typical timelines:
Minimal options: as short as 10-12 weeks
Moderately upgraded builds: 4–6 months
Highly customized builds: can be 6 months or longer during peak ordering seasons
Quotes are generally turned around within:
About 1 week for straightforward builds
2–3 weeks for complex builds requiring engineering review
Our Custom Quote Pricing is guaranteed for 30 days from the quote date. Once a trailer is ordered, pricing is locked in.
A down payment of 50–80 percent is required to place a custom order that is very upgraded (anywhere around a $60k pricepoint or above typically).
As Southern California’s premier race trailer dealer we regularly deliver trailers to the:
Long Beach Port
San Diego Port
This allows customers to arrange shipping to Hawaii or international destinations. Customers just need to secure the shipping arrangements then we coordinate delivery timing and documentation to support this process.
The most basic race trailers we order for inventory are usually around $30,000. This is generally the least expensive race trailer you’ll be able to get from us.
High-end builds are around $50,000 but can exceed $100,000 with the addition of certain high end features such as fuel stations, built-in generators, living quarters areas, among other premium options.
When we have a Featherlite aluminum stacker in stock it’s generally around $100,000, but when custom ordering one they can reach up to $500,000 depending on size and features added.
Where there’s a will to get the best of everything, there’s a way to max out any budget you set…so before we begin the quote process we need to know what your budget range is to make the best recommendations for brand, style (steel or aluminum), and options from your wish list that will fit the bill.
Plan for 6–12 months from research to delivery for upgraded or custom builds.
Custom race trailers should not be rushed. Proper planning ensures the trailer is built correctly and avoids compromises.
